Hello Everyone

I am sure you have asked yourself at some point, the question “Why am I doing/teaching/living like THIS when my own life is like THAT?!!”  I certainly have, a number of times!  Of course the answer is that experience is the greatest teacher and only by experiencing something, working through it, understanding it, accepting it, healing from it, can we truly impart our wisdom ….

Being blessed with outstanding Teachers and Mentors, past and present, I am therefore able to process life/work challenges very deeply but quickly (I am still learning though), sharing my own experience whilst helping others with their own unique challenges. This is my gift and I am good at it!

Every challenge (and I have had more than my fair share), brings us closer to what we truly desire and our ‘destiny’; word of caution here …. ” be careful what you wish for Sisters, the Universe delivers!”

I have finally gone through closure, completion (wondered what those recurring 00:00 numbers were showing me, now I know!) and forgiveness in the form of a  physical illness which was purging of the emotional work I had done.

The centre of this vortex is pure magic because I have met my “Twin Flame” …. not to be mistaken with “Soul Mate”.  The former there is only ever one, whereas the latter can be many as I describe later.

The healing and education Adventure I began early 2013 has finally brought me to a state of evolvement to attract my “Twin Flame” … he also had to be at the same stage to attract me. It has been two months of backwards and forwards, “What is this?  I don’t understand this! How did this happen! I want this so much!  This is everything I ever hoped for.  Hell, I’m terrified because I can’t explain or control what I’m feeling!” to finally throw out the rule book and surrender to the Divine Bigger Picture as it has a power of its own, defying all logic; from here on in, there is no going back as our lives changed forever the moment we met.

It’s pure unconditional love as we instinctively know each other on a deep yet higher level …. two souls reunited personally (possibly also professionally).  What shape this union will take we are unsure, all we are certain of is that there is something far greater than us at play here.   Exhilarating albeit somewhat unnerving!

So here’s a brief difference between a Soul Mate and Twin Flame …

Soul Mate ~ can be platonic or romantic love.  We all have friendships where we just ‘click’ for no obvious reason, we are ‘comfortable’ with each other feeling like we have known each other forever!  We may have spent time with them somewhere in another life, perhaps in the same relationship as this life, or maybe some other form.  When it is romantic love, it can be fleeting, never to meet again, sometimes lessons to be learned, sometimes not.  Probably the most heart-breaking of Soul Mate meetings, is when timing is an issue, you both know you are meant to be in a relationship together but there is an obstacle blocking the way that cannot be removed at that time.

Twin Flame ~ the most elusive type of romantic relationship because they don’t have the turmoil or pain associated with Karmic relationships.  When Twin Flames find each other in this life, its because the work has already been done in past lives.  More often than not, Twin Flames gravitate toward non-traditional as this is where their souls feel most at ease in the discovery of their purpose and authentic life path.  The electricity and attraction that naturally draws Twin Flames together is like no other, therefore to try to follow traditional rules of togetherness is futile and cannot be controlled, hence throw out the rule book.  There will be challenges and questions in this connection and we may try to dismiss it but ultimately it cannot be ignored as it will call to our souls until there is nothing left to question, therefore nothing left to do but surrender to what will be …. it was already written before our birth in this life.  It is the most soul bearing type of togetherness two people can share, free from conformity and societal expectations, liberating and mesmerizing.

Late last week the sun shone, French Windows to the garden open and I prepared to write my latest Newsletter (also promoting new Workshops & Courses)… subject chosen, social media switched off, ‘phone on silent, laptop at the ready, hands poised, brain engaged and ready to flow…. Huh?! Uh Oh! Nothing! Zero! Nada!!! This continued for two hours, until I gave up as I was clearly suffering from “writer’s block!” Even distracting myself with various unrelated activities produced nothing other than “Hello”!

Now I profess to not be one of the best writers, I am no ‘wordsmith’, Journalist, Blogger or Professional Writer, however, I am able to string together a coherent, intelligent, relevant, straightforward and raw message, enough to engage people to comment, like, reply and even PM me to work on projects together or become a client. So far, So good. Writing with more frequency for the past few months, I appeared on-a-roll, enjoying something I had put off for years in the frame of “Who would want to read what I have to say?” kind of thing, you know that feeling!

So what was the reason for this “writer’s block?” I was literally ‘spent’ as far as writing was concerned, having recently written much new material for my upcoming Business Start-up Workshop & various Courses, website, social media and promotion, I truly needed a new tactic to kickstart the written word again ….

1. Identify what you need to write, why it needs to be written and what’s preventing the words from flowing easily.
2. Distract yourself by engaging in something completely unrelated to work, whether it be music, dance, sport, going for a walk in the park or by the sea (if you are lucky enough to live that close …. yes I do, to both!) All of the above if you wish or something completely different, but not house chores for those of us working at home! Something enjoyable and fun, whatever it may be, do it!
3. Stop worrying …. no point in stressing about it, you may lose a few hours but so what …. or in my case 4 days as that included the weekend choosing to switch focus to a photo shoot for website & promo photos – which was much more fun than I imagined, being ready to do that again soon!
4. Post-distraction, give yourself a deadline and get an Accountability Partner – works every time …. many of my Entrepreneurial friends say the same, “whenever there is a tight deadline, that’s when I produce my best work!”
5. Video or record what you want to say and use some of your verbal content as the basis for your written material, which is what I did … loving talking to laptop camera and setting up the whole ‘recording studio’ over the next few months …. even more fun!
6. Finally, for those of us who do …. Meditate, I find this incredibly powerful in resetting my thought process; not about emptying the mind which is impossible whilst you live and breathe! Interestingly, for me personally, when I swim my mile, I become ‘at one’ with the water, only focusing on my breathing and technique, visualising and focusing on muscle groups in motion which is so akin to meditation, I get ‘flashes of inspiration’ parked until I exit the water.

As a long-standing Entrepreneur and ‘Seasoned Networker’ who delivers events and loves meeting and talking with new people, I never enjoyed opening with “what I do”; so bland, flat and boring for such a happy, passionate, creative like me.

And then, I was truly inspired last year, when I discovered Simon Sinek’s amazing TEDx Talk – “Start with why — how great leaders inspire action”.  This changed everything as I definitely work from the ‘Limbic brain’ (feelings like trust and loyalty) and completely understand Simon’s reference to “The Golden Circle” – What, How, Why – brilliant!

Secondly I undertook a Relationship Psychology Course and again learned new ways to open a conversation with anyone in any setting and continue that conversation for an hour or more without ever asking what someone does or where they live, which no longer mattered because the connections were made.

Attending a Breakfast Networking event last week, (first in a long time as I know most people in my County having invested many hours of ‘Relationship Building’ over a number of years), I chose to lead with my “WHY” – oh my, what a great Psychology exercise!  The “Lean In” from people to discover more was not only fun but also produced better results and deeper connections (guest invitation to another networking event plus speaker slots at a Trade Show along with the best gluten free breakfast ever, were some of the highlights!)

I am not suggesting you undertake a Relationship Psychology course but do look at your “WHY” you do what you do – and consider incorporating it into website and social media copy, advertising and promotion along with adopting it for your 60 second pitch!

On a final note, today my ‘WHY’ gained me 10% discount at Office Shoe Shop ….

Most of us understand the word ‘Leverage’ but how many Business owners actually join or offer Affiliate Programmes?  After 18 months of extensive research, I have discovered just how valuable Affiliate Programmes can be …. both as an Affiliate to a few fellow professionals aligned with my own Business and now as a Business Owner offering  an Affiliate Programme – albeit in its infancy which will evolve as my new Business also evolves.   By aligning with the right people, this can be an incredibly powerful tool for advancing your business.

Since joining my first major Affiliate Marketing Programme a year ago, I have learned these valuable tools through significant training, applying them in my own business.  My personal appreciation is given to Kristin Sweeting Morelli of Red Tent Revival, who provided the following along with exceptional coaching calls and videos.

The 6 Questions to Ask before Promoting anyone else’s Programme or Product

1. Is this person making a real difference/impact with integrity and do you wish to be associated with them to make significant changes in the world? Does the programme feel right, speaking to your heart and soul?
2. What kind of experience is your lead going to have during the promo or event? Is it something New/Innovative/Exciting/Fun/Transformational? Something they will be grateful to you for sharing? Something you will feel good about exposing them to?
3. What is your lead going to be sold? What is the initial offer? And upsell offers? Bonus Point: Imagine ways the offer or upsells can grow your core business.
4. What is the average commission (money in your pocket) per lead their affiliates have made with that same promo – on average, not just their 3 best affiliates? In what time-frame?
5. What will they do to continue to monetise your lead after the initial promo? Is there an upsell on the backside? How does it convert in average commission per lead?
6. What happens to your lead after the promotion is over? Do they promote other people’s offers? How often in the following 6 months do they promote other people after this promo? This means: how many lists is your lead potentially going to end up on! Remember, if you become an Affiliate, you are not ‘Selling’ anything, you are purely referring to something of genuine value to your trusted list.
